“The 2025-26 version of Shoot For The Cure was a success. We had most of the U SPORTS women’s basketball teams participate and we are excited to make another substantial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society,” said Jeff Speedy, Director of Athletics at University of New Brunswick and Shoot for the Cure Project Manager. “Next season will be the 20th edition of Shoot For The Cure. We have some exciting things planned for this milestone year and cannot wait to launch what we hope will be a very successful campaign.”
It was an exciting moment on Sunday evening as the cheque for $92,697.67 was presented at the gold medal game of the 2026 Sunlife Women’s Final 8, at the Desjardins-Université Laval gymnasium amphitheater in Québec City, QC.
The Saskatchewan Huskies defeated the UNB REDS 77-68 in the gold medal game to claim their second consecutive national title Sunday evening.
