Western's Jay Parry raced for 47 yards after grabbing Bill Robinson’s pass to lead the Mustangs to a 19-15 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Blues had dominated the game in most statistical categories, except the score, with 236 yards in offence versus Western's 178.

The game attracted a Vanier Cup record 24,777 spectators (at the time) and featured numerous turnovers by both teams.
